

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer met with representatives from China on Saturday in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to reports, Saturday’s meetings lasted eight hours. At one point the Chinese took a break but talks resumed shortly afterward.
Bessent is expected to meet with the Chinese again on Sunday.
China send Vice Premier He Lifeng to the Geneva talks.
The US sent Scott Bessent to lead the trade talks.

Economists do not expect a major breakthrough this weekend, but even symbolic progress could support the stock markets on Monday morning, especially export, consumer and tech stocks.
