Ousted ‘Squad’ Member Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri Defiant on Her Way Out the Door: ‘I’m Not Going Far’

Rep. Cori Bush of Missouri, a member of the so-called Squad, lost her bid for reelection earlier this year, thankfully. Jamaal Bowman, another Squad member was also ousted this year.

On her way out the door, she is vowing to fight on and has hinted that she may even run for public office again in the future.

She is also downplaying the public’s rejection of the Squad’s lunatic policy positions, saying that the Squad is still powerful.

RedState reports:

Bush stated, “I wasn’t unseated because I didn’t take care of my community. We brought over $2 billion to our district in four years.” Bush claims her office helped constituents traverse federal agencies for things like Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and obtaining housing. All that money was spent on PPP loans and housing? That’s interesting since you don’t have to go far in Cori Bush’s district to find an abundance of empty storefronts and crumbling infrastructure. As a constituent, I would like to know where all that money really went. Bush also points to the Biden administration’s COVID-era eviction moratorium as a victory during her time in Congress.

Bush tried to portray her fellow Squad members as “that regular everyday person from our communities.” The problem with that is that just last month, Americans, regular everyday people from their communities, overwhelmingly voted for Donald Trump’s America First conservative policies and soundly rejected ideas like free healthcare, free education, and the endless list of freebies progressives like Bush support. She said of the thinning Squad membership:

“The Squad will keep fighting. First of all, the Squad is big. And I know we want to make the Squad just out to be a few people, but we don’t do this work by ourselves.”

She continued, “Anyone who underestimates our power is severely mistaken, because we aren’t going anywhere, and I will always be Squad. I’m not going far.”

Who would ever vote for this woman again?

The 2024 election showed that most Americans are not interested in what the Squad is selling.
